Thanks Peter, glad you like it. Here is the original right out of camera. I just cropped and did a feathered vignette in Lightroom, then adjusted contrast brightness black point and all that stuff to try and make the flower pop a bit more from the vignette. Then to Elements for some more tone adjustments (can't remember them all but usually levels and colours) sharpening and resizing.

This has made me want to go and take photos of flowers, will have to wait till the daffodils and Jonquils come out.
Looking forward to it Emma. Here the climate has been so hot and dry that most flowers have come up long before they are supposed to. I am afraid of what that means for the end of summer , probably not much flowering then.
Papaver or poppy. Most times they are just one colour, but this one is different. And the blue pollen was a bonus I guess.
It's a great image and from what I've seen it seems fine to change the original background to black-call it 'artistic licence'
Just browsed this thread and what wonderful macro shots. My macro lens is quite heavy and I need a tripod so I use this,it saves kicking the tripod legs. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...g_Sliding.html
