I like this photo, well taken from a good angle and great detail.

Not much in terms of composition, but I really like the structure of these hortensia petals

Peter this is an interesting photo the type that I often take, not for it's artistic qualities but because I like it.

I find it a very interesting photo, I have never seen anything like this.

Same sentiment here. The hortensia itself is of course pretty big for a flower and not that interesting at all. Sizewise if you want to compare it to something I would suggest you make a fist and then circle the fist with your other hand. In my case the hortensia is about 1.5 times as big as my hands.
Not much of a macro subject

This photo was as macro as I could accomplish handheld and just meant to show off the structure a bit more. It is a bit like going into a maze or something similar.

Great detail in the image, i keep going back to this type of image, perhaps because there is so little to shoot in the winter.

Shooting flowers in strong light is really difficult and often leads to blown highlights... best on an overcast day or indoors, MACRO can also lead to really limited dof, makes it hard to keep in focus as there is alway movement out of doors.

I love the DOF on the first shot Dave. On the second one the droplets look great, but at the bottom of the photo the DOF is distracting to me. My eyes are drawn towards that part, but I can't focus.

They told us this was going to be a very harsh and cold winter...so far the temperature has not dropped below 10 Celsius much and my wife is worrying that if a real frost would still come (seems unlikely) some of the plants that have been misled could be destroyed.

    This weekend was hamamelis time

Stunning colors and a buttery smooth bokeh. Well done Peter!

I have enjoyed following this thread, I hope to improve my own macro photos. Peter and Wendy have been very informative in their form and creativity. I am posting one of my beginning attempts with a newly purchased used Tamron 90mm. Please feel free to C&C

I like it as it is Randy. In itself it could be slightly sharper perhaps, but it doesn't need it. Nice bokeh and my first thought was that it looked like some sort of bird with its head pointed towards the left. It looks elegant I think.
