Lesser celandine, gagea and scilla. The lesser celandine is known to be invasive in some parts of the USA, but here in a park in Stockholm, it's the gagea that takes the space. The only one of these that is planted is the scilla, and it is supposed to be a lawn, but there is hardly any grass at all.

Down here in Texas, the coriopsis are in bloom and it's starting to warm up. I seem to have made the choice to not use a tripod and to take all these handheld in situ. So I feel very lucky to get this one as it was quite breezy when I was trying to get in close.

Another roadside shot. Don't know what this flower is. I had to hold the stem to keep it still as it was breezy. Unfortunately that means my finger shows up. Alas, at least it's in the color palette :-)

Nice one Patrik, this one you can't really get up close anyway, as it is to big.

One of my favourites as well...the handheld flower. I had it quite breezy as well today and sometimes holding the stem is the only way to get a decent shot. Great detail on these little flowers.

Louise, this shot was taken against the wall of our house here outside Athens but taken some years ago. I don't remember the name but will find out and post it.

Hi again Louise. I've now found the name of my flower. It's an Aquilegia. Here you can see the flower from another angle.

First post your photo somewhere on the web that accepts a reasonable size, then get the location of the picture and put it in between IMG-tags. You get the tags by clicking the image-frame in the editing frame border.

I received a request from a woman, who is a member of an organization to protect some California habitats, to take some pictures of some very rare wild flowers, who are protected. I want to share with you these plants.

Dona, Randy, welcome in the thread and hope you can post soon.

What I do (in Firefox) is first of all upload my photos to Flickr. It can be another program as well of course. Then if you want to post in this thread go to your Flickr photo, click on Action - all sizes, select the right size and right click on copy image location.
In your post click on the Insert Image icon (in the menu above the post you are making) and paste the image location.

That is it. Not sure whether it works the same in Internet Explorer, but it will be similar.

    Hope this helps.
