I like the pink ones Griddi. Delicate look and the raindrops look good on the first one.

Nice contrasts Franci, the flower looks familiar, but I can't quite name it.
I am not sure about the crop. Looking at it I might have cropped away some of the left side and the top.

Hi Peter, thanks for your suggestion, do you mean something like this?
    Macro flower photographs

For the name, it is the seed of a large Umbrellacea, but I cannot say which flower.

Those skeletons are always interesting, some flowers age beautifully.

I have a plant growing outside my back door with those japanese lantern type fruits (but mine don't seem to change colors). What is that plant? BTW, this is a beautiful composition!

Yes, it brings out the flower a bit better I feel. The light is pleasing with that white highlighted a bit.

    Re: Macro flower photographs

Having just been introduced to Macro Flower Photography, I didn't realize this thread existed. I've already posted this image in the 'Macro Math' thread, but thought it would fit well here. Hope you don't mind! C&C is always appreciated.

This is an experiment with a different background and lighting. I hope you enjoy, please let me know what you think could be improved.

    Thanks for viewing!

    Andrew,

Nicely done. I would personally consider a much looser framing horizontally, with more space particularly in front of the flower.

Yep, that makes sense. Closer is not always better. Will try again, but I'm hoping to try with something different, just for a change. Thanks for the tip!

To me the background is too bright, it distracts from fine details. I like the drops

    Re: Macro flower photographs

Good point - I'll keep that in mind for the next one. I just wanted to try something different than the black/white typical.

    Re: Macro flower photographs

I thought I would try a 'skeleton' too, after some inspiration from DanK, but I'm not sure what I think.

Grazie Franci! I'm surprised you found live roses still! The weather must be nicer there, than here!

    Re: Macro flower photographs

I'm not sure what these little guys are, but I picked up a bunch of them from the florist - they're only about 1cm across, and most of them are pink - 1 in every 20-30 of the bunch was white. So I thought I'd give it a try.
