Thank you, Willie, Mike and Richard!

Richard, yours made me feel more than a little excited because we're just deciding to go to NYC in May. (I think that I'll be able to get a voice lesson in with my teacher - hooray! It's been a while...) Anyway, I'm making grand plans for visiting the Met museum and taking my camera into central park. (er, with a bodyguard, I hope!)

Also, you mention "bucolic" like it must be safe but, I have to tell you, it was icy under the fresh snow and I did wind up with a good, hard sit down. I kept thinking of the postman in A Child's Christmas in Wales,

"And the cold postman, with a rose on his button-nose, tingled down the tea-tray-slithered run of the chilly glinting hill. He went in his ice-bound boots like a man on fishmonger's slabs. He.... dizzily turned the corner on one foot, and, by God, he was gone."

    That was me!

LOL! Guess photography is dangerous all around! You'll have a great time in NYC. It was almost sensory overload. There was so much to see and photograph. Our group marched in the St. Patrick's Day Parade and we had about 4 hours free the night prior. A friend and I hit Time Square and Rockefeller Center. We are looking to back up when we have some more time. And to be honest, I felt pretty safe - there are police around EVERYWHERE! Best of luck!

    Re: Magical Mountain

Aw, you guys are really great! Thanks, Dennis and Tim!

Richard, I know what you mean about feeling safe. I was there, staying in a hotel near Times Square, three years ago (I cannot believe it's been that long!) and couldn't sleep (Tom snores!) and, so, got up (I just HAD to get out of that room!) and I just went out and wandered around. I took a long walk on down to Times Square - a lot of the shows were just getting out. It was completely lit up and wonderfully crowded and, well, NY doesn't sleep, of course, and I had a great ol' adventure at 2 in the morning. Being alone, in any city, in the dark, though.......
