Yes, but mostly due to the different capabilities (especially dynamic range) of the cameras; for any given camera, one can only make the best choice regarding ISO / shutterspeed / aperture (with all the associated consequences) - the rest of the capture is then in "the laps of the gods" so-to-speak. The point I'm trying to make - that Robin backed up - is that far too many people worry about using high ISO settings due to the perception tht the image quality will be poor due to the noise - so rather than risk noise/grain being visible (forgetting that they'd have to print the iage 3 feet wide and 2 feet high to be able to see it), they keep their ISO low ... and in the process completely ruin the shot with vast quantities of camera shake / subject motion and/or insufficient depth of field. Crazy.

PS: In one of the books I own the author has printed about 6 photos of the same scene side by side - all with different camera ranging from an iPhone - through Canon's xxxD range - through Canon's xxD Range - through Canon's 1D range - through to a medium format back. Obviously a MF back is going to win a big print competition (so these were all kept small), but believe me - they all looked identical.
