Just after some general criticism, I know its not perfect but still interested in some general feedback..

Hello, Karen. Your girl is really a joy to look at, she's pretty. In my opinion, if I would work on this image, I would like to soften the image and stick with the normal plain black and white effect. Then, maybe throw in a little light vignette on the corners. Something like this:

What a beautiful child. In your original photo, I find the face a little over exposed/ maybe too much contrast, but the composition and expression is delightful.
