Looks like it mimics infrared to some extent.

You replace the Hot Mirror filter in your camera with a infrared one, Thr drawback is if you want to shoot normal photo's you need to reinstall the Hot Mirror filter .
I used to like to shoot the Kodak HIE Infrared film but they discontinued it about 5yrs ago.
