Interesting presentation Mark - do you think it would improve it if the boarder wasn't quite as wide and the crop not quite as tight (talking minor variation here - perhaps 20% less on the boarder?)

Not always but mostly, borders tend to look best when the top and sides are about equal width and the bottom is a little wider. Experiment and your eyes will know when the correct width "clicks" into place. It's a weird sensation, just like your eyes relaxing a bit.
