polarizers and nd filters
Hi All,
Spring is coming here to the northeast of the US and I would like to take some high depth or long visa landscapes and waterfall pics. I would like to get rid of the haze in my landscapes and would like to get that foamy water look in my waterfall shots. I am about to buy both a good polarizer and a high number nd filter. The big question is do I remove my haze filter from the lens first or do I screw the polarizer or nd filter over the top of them.
Thanks
Mike

Re: polarizers and nd filters
The more filters you stack, the more chance you'll have on vignetting. If you're using a lens capable of full frame on a body with a crop size sensor it wouldn't be that much of a problem.
When I use a ND filter and a polarizer I only use them and no UV or haze filter.
By the way, that ocassion is with a 17-40mm f/4.0L lens on a Canon EOS 400d body (cropfactor 1.6). I use a B&W 10 stops ND filter and the slim edition of a BW circular polarizer to prevent for vignetting.

Re: polarizers and nd filters
Hi JK,
I have a full frame 28- 70 lens and a full frame sensor. I use on all of my lens a Tiffen digital HT haze filter. I kinda realized I'd run the risk of vignetting if I stacked. I don't think I'll be using both the nd and the polarizer together. I guess I asked the wrong question. Maybe I should have asked if by stacking either filter on top of the haze filter will I get any color shift?
Thanks
Mike

Re: polarizers and nd filters
For best results you need to get a Vari-ND filter so that you can dial in whatever exposure you need.
