Look who got his Camera back!
This was spposed to be just a test shot to see how well it would perform after all the fixin's they did...
Repair Hot Pixel
Adj Auto White Balance
Adj Auto Focus Operation
Clean CCD
Firmware Upgrade
General Check & Clean
It's going to take a few days of shooting different things, many of them repeat shots to determine if it is the same, better or (bite my tongue) worse...though, given this example below, I think my tongue is pretty safe.
Azealas in my front yard. F/5 @ 1/500 (windy out), ISO 200 Minimal PP.

I rather enjoy the color and composition of this piece, but that quote just makes all of it better

Chris,
Great news – hopefully all will now be well. Your post looks fine. As we say over here …. that's a result.

Re: Look who got his Camera back!
I took it out of the packing, attached a lens and went out to shoot something, just to play and I couldn't get it to focus. It took me a few minutes to figure out that whoever was testing the focus points had a different diopter adjustment than mine. Once I reset that...viola, life was good again.
I am not sure what they did, but it has a significantly tighter than previously, especially in the up close and personal range. the image above is certianly not macro quality, but for a 50mm 1.8 lens, it isn't all that shabby, either. I went back to some of the shots I made when I first got the camera and the 50mm and I am going to stick myself out on a limb a bit, but I am seeing at least a 1 to 1.5 diopter increase in sharpness. Even the kit lens showed a nice increase in sharpness. Got to love technicicans, eh?
