Colin, there is a nice preview of the Nikon D5100 here: http://dpreview.com/previews/nikond5100/
Sounds very interesting.![]()
Thanks for sharing it![]()
Yes, I happened across a "pre-order" item for this on Amazon.uk last night; £669.99 body only.
My take, as a D5000 shooter;
Advantages are a (possibly) better hinge arrangement on the (slightly) larger LCD screen and of course the sensor at 16.2 MP and a high iso of 6400 (plus two more stops of H1, H2 extention to 25600).
I think most other stuff is basically as my D5000 (and D90) - like AF etc.
Definitely not an upgrade path for me (given the price), just a 'more current' model to compete with other manufacturers, as the model number suggests.
But the D7000 body only is £959
I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't ....![]()
Looks good. The best bit from the D7000 (the awesome sensor) - the best bit from the D5000 (the flip out screen) - and the best bit from the D3100 (the compact size)
Looks like a really nice camera and a good rival for the EOS600D which will help drive prices down.
