Night shot --- is the movement better or is still better?

Hi,

I would like to share some of my pictures taken last night at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach. I would like opinions on weather the pictures are better with the movement or without. Thanks for viewing my pictures. Your comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Among all of them, #2 seems to be more interesting to me, Rob. I guess the small motion blur gave me more story to look unto on the image.

I agree with Willie - the small motion blur does add levels of interest and makes it a much more dynamic image. The difficulty I have is with the light on the surface of the table being so bright.

I also agree with shot # 2 being the most interesting, just enough blur to make the sharpness of other items really stand out. Shot #4 without any blur is just a good night shot, but no "story". Number 2 is well done.

I am a #2-er too but I think a much tighter crop is needed...lots of dead, do nothing space.

Hi Rob,

I think a crop like #3, maybe even tighter on left, for reason Chris says, but do it on #5 - at least we can see a face

Other than that, yes, #2 as said above, but again with the tighter composition.

Sadly, there's camera shake apparent in the background building lights on all though
... but if it's any consolation, I'd likely have done exactly the same as I'm too self conscious to take and use a tripod on such occasions
