Hi from Mike in the UK

    Hi there,

I've been a member of this Forum for... a while, so I thought I'd say hello.

Lot's of interesting posts and advice. I particularly like the tutorials as a resource.

    A bit about me...

I sold my first portraits at 16, (they were pretty bad). I studied Photographic and Electronic Imaging Sciences at uni and have 'done' photography as a hobby and as a part time business for many years. Some would say my experience is vast, but I always consider my apprenticeship as only having just begun.
I believe that a good photographer is better served by well-developed skills than by expensive equipment.

I've always spent more on lenses than bodies.

    Mike

G'day from an Aussie Mike, we're a mixed bunch here but all friendly. Now, just so I know how friendly to be, what breed of gear do you use?

    Hi Bill,
    How you doin'?
I use Nikon for 35mm / DX with Sigma EX lenses.
I also have a Mamiya C330 f with a selection of lenses porrofinder and paramender.
Courtney 2000, Nikon SB800 and Metz (with sca adapter)
    Manfrotto pod
During my career I have used Sinar 5x4, Hasselblad
    Nothing unusual!
I see you are a Nikon man.
