Increase the Aperture or Decrease the Aperture?
Do you think I should increase the aperture on this photo. I kinda like it like this but I want to know what other people think.

Re: Increase the Aperture?
I'd probably do the opposite - using a wide aperture to blur out the background. This effect can be done using photoshop, though. Nice composition and subject, btw.

I wouldn't be to concerned with that, I think you have done well.

Re: Increase the Aperture?
This is where the terms "increase aperture" and "decrease aperture" tend to confuse people. "Increase" applied to "aperture" means to open it further by using a smaller f:stop number. "Decrease" applied to "aperture" means to make it smaller by using a larger f:stop number.
What Jiro is referring to is to make the hole larger by using a smaller f:stop number, which will decrease your depth of field and blur the background even more.
I like the one you have posted, but a little less depth of field, using a larger aperture (smaller f:stop number) might make it more dramatic.

Re: Increase the Aperture?
I think that if you increased the focal length and stopped down a little then you would both get the more diffuse background and perhaps get the lower leaf in focus...it looks great as-is though
