    Editing Help

I have an image that I have been fiddling with since Oct. '09 and can't see to get it anywhere that I really like. I is a jpeg 'cuz I was scared of RAW... all the settings are auto... 'cuz I was scared of everything else way back then. But, it has sentimental value to me and I'd like to print and hang it sometime.

If I post the file would anyone like to fiddle with it? But, to attach the file it needs to be reduced... will that affect it?

Uh Oh... this should probably be in the PP forum... oops.

I think there are some free file hosting site where you can upload the file on their server for free. Then, somebody can access them for download later, same thing that Donald did on the challenge comp that we have here. It would be better if we can start with the large jpeg, Mary so we can help you edit it.

    Try this one, Mary: http://www.mediafire.com/

Umm Nothing creative but just a bit of colour & exposure correction. I didn't feel like cropping it a bit because of such nice greenery around the train.

That looks really nice. The color and clarity are much better and you cropped out the pavement. I like it, Sahil... especially the memory it brings to mind. Thank you.

This in our neighborhood back in NH. To the left of the tracks is the marina where we kept our boat, and Lake Winnipesaukee. That is the Winnipesaukee RR, a train that pretty much is just used for tourist... leaf peeping, in the winter It's called the Santa train. It was a neat place to call home... for a time.

It was. We spent a lot of hours on it. My favorite time of year was in the late fall when all the tourists and summer people had gone. The leaves were so beautiful and I loved when it was cold and I had some hot coffee or cocoa. Lake Winni has somewhere around 275 inhabital islands. There is a mail boat that delivers mail to all of them. The island homes are summer homes for the most part. The lake freezes solid very deep, so you can snowmobile or drive on.... private planes even use parts of it for runways... ice skate...

    WOW!!!! I envy that...
275 inhabitable Islands, mail boat, disconnected from worldly things.. All by yourself at a breathtaking place.... What more could one ask for...
& frozen lakes being used as a runway? That is something unbelievable.
