Happy Springtime (or Autumn, down in Oz)
Finally had time to take a couple of pics:
C&C always welcome -- does the first one, in particular, work?

As usual, lovely floral shots and pp work coming from you, Elise. One small suggestion though, I would probably suggest cloning out the shadow on the top left to let my attention focus on the flowers alone. Nice shots!

Thanks, Jiro -- I kind of liked the shadow, but if it doesn't work . . . it doesn't work.

Very nice work Elise, I would agree with Jiro on the shadow. I also think {2cents} the light and shandow transition is a bit harsh. I would think the light would look better if it continued although lessened whil it reach the leaves. Just so that there was a slight bit more detail and a highlight or two in the leaves.

Here's the original of that one -- I'll try to work on the transition.

Elise, I would not work to hard on the transition, I was being nit picky in hopes to help. You have done a beautiful job and I am quite amazed at the before and after, you truley have a wonderful vision.

Thanks, Paul, that's really kind of you. I'll try it without the shadow and see how it looks.

Re: Happy Springtime (or Autumn, down in Oz)
Hi Elise - I agree there is too much going on in the first shot, but I do like the idea of the flower and the shadow. Perhaps just one flower though?????
Lovely as usual, I like the misty look of the lilacs, not sure about the dark vignette on the corners though, seeing as the rest of the shot has a misty look about it, I might like to see it fading lightly at the corners???? maybe?

Here it is without the shadow -- I think you're right.
And here's the lilacs:
Better?

I kind of liked the three flower composition that included the shadow, except it was so strong that the shadow drew my eye first. But the second version is fine too. I really like the painterly feel of the tulips.
