Went on a Mini Excursion

Up in the mountains of North Carolina, off looking for some waterfalls when I ran across these guys in a rapidly running river with a few tidal pools along the way. Up until then, I'd never actually seen anyone flycast for trout. It was quite interesting.

Chris, you have got me longing to get out. I am also a fly-fishermen. and love to fish trout in a river most. Nice work here, but I have to ask did they catch anything. I am guessing not or we would have seen it here as it can make quite a spectacular shot.

I was only able to get one capture shot but he released...the hard part of shooting was working around all the roadside bushes and do so without getting squished by a car....very narrow roadway.

You did good, it is hard to shoot from above and with thick cover a get a descent shot. Once in a while if ya hook a big one...he'll tail walk across the water. Makes for a great action shot. Oh I need to pack up and go! lol

I really like #1 best - it really captures the power of the water and the light on the Fisherman is lovely.
