    Stacking multiple filters

    Hi All,

Having gotten a couple of filters I just have a query is it wise to stack multiple filters?
Like say a ND4 and UV filter? What will happen? Or is it just common practise to use a single one for what is being done?

    Stack away.

When you say you have the UV, is it the case like a great many of us, you have that fitted to the front of your lens permanently?

If that is the case, then, if you're like me, you'll not count it anyway. Whenever I say I have filter attached, then that means it is a filter on top of the UV that's already there and never comes off.

I have taken shots with a Circular Polariser + a 3 stop Graduated Neutral Density (GND) + a 2-stop GND with no discernible problem. Indeed, the only reason they were on there was to improve the shot.

Oh thats great, thanks Donald. Yeah the UV is pretty much on all the time as a permanent. Ive also bought a circular Polarise and a 2-stop GND.
