Re: Just upgraded to IE9
There certainly is! I don't like it either...
Go to Control panel - programs and features
Then click the 'view installed updates' option.
You will now see under the 'Microsoft Windows'; section, an option to remove 'Windows internet explorer 9'
IE8 will still be on your PC, so will not need uninstalling
These instructions are for Win7, Vista will be very similar, XP a bit more different!

Dunno, is it that different?
I use IE7 at work mostly, FF4 at home mostly and IE9 at home sometimes, had 8 previously.

I also upgraded but you may not want to go back. Prior to upgrading, IE6 started to load slower and sometimes the desktop shortcuts didn't work at all. I think the software is deliberately set to mishandle so you can upgrade. The page is a bit different but once you get the hang of where things are located it works just fine.

And at some point, you're going to want HTML5 and CSS3 support....

Re: Just upgraded to IE9
My system just upgraded me without asking permission, also. I'm getting used to it, but the layout and the loss of some of the clicks really irritate me. I am thinking seriously of going back to IE8.

Re: Just upgraded to IE9
IE9 has it's quirks, but after working with it for a number of weeks now, I enjoy it much better. It is also more secure, faster and I am now situated for the HTML and other changes headed our way.

Re: Just upgraded to IE9
Safari every time for me - the missus uses Firefox 4 which is handy as it means both browsers can be open with completely different tabs and our bookmarks don't clash.
Haven't used IE for years and while I did try Chrome it was pretty much a copy of Safari so I've stuck with what I like.
