Dessication
Found these two gum leaves which had decayed to leave just the venetation structure. Looked interesting enough to try as a subject.

I'll take both shots as winners, Ken. I like the way you handled the highlights and your control of the shadow details here. Well done. The added frame border is a nice addition, too.

I am being given so much help and encouragement from kind, knowledgeable folk like you that if I can't start to get a few things right by now I would have to be a total drongo! Very good, Ken.
For me, the first one in particular, is a real attention grabber. Not only have you photographed the leaves superbly well, but the whole presentation of the image (balance of colour and tone) really works.
