    Beautiful, clear capture of the feathers on the wings and body. The eye looks fine as well, but the top of the head doesn't seem to have the same pin-sharp clarity. My apologies if that's to do with the bird and its feathers (and I can see it could be that) rather than your work.

    Thanks for your comments. I have zoomed in on the original shot, and I think you may be right the feathers on the head don't have the clarity. With that in mind I am still largely happy with the result as I used a 75-300 kit lens for the shot. I was experimenting with the use of a higher ISO (800) to get a faster shutter speed in order to reduce camera shake.
