    Stolen Glimpses

Not having flowers in the yard myself, I occasionally get a chance in a customers yard...though normally rushed. Your C&C is welcome and appreciated. I recommend viewing in the lightbox. Thanks for looking.

All 3 are very nice. I really like the colours and background in 2 & 3. Can't really critique anything. There are so many ways to interpert flowers in a photo, but for me I really like the soft focus look that you have in these.

Thank you Wendy. As for the soft focus, all was done in camera. I had an idea this flower would look good with a very shallow DOF.I was happy with it.

I'm glad you're finally getting spring Paul, the colors are really brilliant and the first shot I particularly like - I have spent a fair bit of time in the past couple of weeks crawling around on sidewalks to capture small flowers in front of fences lol - I like to perspective you've captured. Very nice work

Well Rachel, we are trying anyways. We are still averaging 10 degrees below normal, but we are supposed to get in to the sixties tomorrow. I think we have only had 3 days to reach 60 this year and a ton of wet. Things are blumming well but there has been little sun to play with. These shots today were shot in full cloud cover. Thank you, I like the first ones perspective as well. Infact I like it more being I did not have to get on the ground for it, I was standing on the sidewalk and the yard was a little less than head height.

    Paul,

The first photo has outstanding depth. The second doesn't do anything for me. The third picture has colour the demands attention with the composition. I makes me want to get a dedicated macro lens.

Mary... or Lucy... either is fine with me. ;)

    Re: Stolen Glimpses

I love the first one. Daisies, white fence, DOF...win.

    Paul,

I also have to vote for #1. It certainly does have a sense of depth to it. Plus I love the converging lines of the mid-ground flower bed and the background picket fence. Very nice.

I agree with the majority view - #1 is the star of this particular show. There's a lovely, fresh, clean-air quality about it.

Do wonder what a crop on the left, down the line between the third and fourth plank on the fence, would look like? It would take out that out-of-focus group of flower heads at the left hand edge of the frame.

Thank you everyone for the comments. Donald, I had thought the same thing but have yet to take a look. I will give it a little trim and see on my return from the grind.
