CHDK - Powershot on steroids
For those of you who don't know what CHDK is; it's a utility for some Canon Powershot camera that unleashes some extra features not available from Canon.
For more information, check CHDK website at CHDK
Or for an intro to what CHDK is, check this site here
For those of you who already use it, please post your experiences.
I just got an SD1000 powershot and am so happy shooting RAW with it (though 10-bit) and happy with the live histogram.

Re: CHDK - Powershot on steroids
I was not aware of this utility. If it worked to enable RAW on Canon's new PowerShot S5 IS (which does not support RAW out of the box), then that camera would become MUCH more attractive as a carry-around model due to its tilt/swing rear LCD... That's a big reason I opted for the G9 is because RAW was re-enabled compared to the "crippled" non-RAW G6...

McQ,
Check this out
http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/S5IS
It is either available now, or in the works.
I believe a CHDK can be developed for any canon with digic II-III (theoretically).
